Design Style
My designs feature a combination of naturalistic and modern design. I use predominantly herbaceous perennials and perennial grasses with trees and some shrubs for structure. The plants are arranged in a loose, seemingly random pattern inspired by the New Perennial Movement.
The focus of my designs is on the planting with the use of materials in the modern style, clean lines and geometry giving the looser planting structure and a backdrop to set them off against. The chosen materials fit in with the style of the house and wider surrounding and blend in rather than stand out.
I am an advocate for choosing the right plant for a site, reducing the need for irrigation once the plants are established and support an organic approach in the sense of cultivating a healthy soil and therefore healthy plants, cutting out the use of herbicides & pesticides as well as synthetic fertilizers.
I aim to create garden spaces that have a positive effect on peoples wellbeing, providing a calm environment and a space to reflect.
